Answering to a higher father (no, not that one)

I just remembered a conversation that I had with a friend at Drinking Liberally the other night. She brought up an interesting possibility that I had not heard discussed in relation to the recent exodus of Rove and Gonzo. She asked me, “Where did W spend his last vacation?”

I said, “Kennebunkport”.

“And who was he with?”, she queried.

“Papa Bush”, I answered

“Well, isn’t it just possible that Daddy said, “you’re really screwing up, these guys have got to go”?

Of course it’s possible. Just a little food for thought. I’m still nibbling.

Don’t think so. They know that the Democrats are going to take the Presidency, and they are trying to project an image of “improvement” from now until the end of the Presidency. They are in fear of having a backlash that would result in a majority of Dems in the House (not just 1 or 2 in the positive column, but MANY) and having them run the administration as well.

If they can convince the voters that they are now the party of “responsibility” and get Bush to say that they are correcting problems and doing what the “voters” want, they’re hoping to minimize damage come this November and next year.

The trickle down effect has now hit the counties and towns, and the Republican party is suffering from not a drop in enrollment, but a drop in support.

Support to them comes in many forms, but primarily in funding, and even if they held a minority, if they had the funds behind themselves to “relaunch” they could, and drag the Dems into hearing after hearing after hearing, similar to the Clinton years.

So much time was spent on special investigations and the creation of scandal, that nothing much was accomplished in priorities. If you think about it, they can keep the status quo and their agenda if they can just have enough money and power to keep the opposition busy, and in the same breath, anger, confuse and antagonize the voters. Their ability to “achieve” is created in many different forms, and one of them importantly is turning voters on voters - drawing strong lines in the sand. Not only does it distract voters from real issues, but it causes many to be disgusted with the system as a whole, and withdraw and stop watching. That’s the goal.

So sacrificing a few lambs for the sake of the masses is something relatively “new” to the GOP, but if you think about it, and where the minds of many voters is right now, it makes perfect sense.

As far as Senior Bush’s involvement - this is a monarchy of sorts. Since the 70’s the same people have made decisions and garnered power - over and over and over again. To think that he still isn’t involved is naive. The agenda for the continuation of the “chosen” who will again and eventually regain control over this country was already being strategized the day George Jr. was elected. To believe otherwise is foolish.

Voters need to DEMAND accountability. They need to dismiss the notion that “political” means “non-changeable”.

There’s an old saying. If you are unhappy with your government in January, blame yourself for November. PEOPLE get the government they DESERVE.

We have no one to blame but ourselves. And only we can change things to make the future better.

Very well said. Yes we can change things- start locally this year, finish nationally next. Pick a candidate and work for him/her like your life depended on it. It probably does.

Good comment. Yes, voters need to demand accountability. It can’t be said enough.

Notice the numbers on their hats, 41 and 43? In “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” the number 42 is the answer to the universe (i.e., Clinton in this case) but sadly, it’s been so long that they forgot the question. Hope the Democrats haven’t forgotten the question, which is, WHO put you in office and for what reason? Hint: the voters and get the troops home.

We could throw their religion back at them:

41 43

4+1 = 5 4+3 = 7

4+3-1 = 6
4+1+1= 6

“He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead (or his baseball cap) so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is 666″ (Rev. 13:16-18).

So we have 2 of the 6’s…we just need the third Bush.

OK - I’m done :)

You are cracking me up! However, if you want to get technical, the actual number of the beast (if you believe in such things) is 616, not 666. It is a widely spread misinterpretation of scripture from Revelation. Either Nero or Claudius was trying to insert himself in the religion or something like that. So, we need a 1 here to complete your math.

You must have watched the Jim Carrey movie “The Number 23″ recently, given your math lesson.
