The usual Republican suspects

RepublicanSuspects
It’s from an article in The Politico about the Greedy Old Perverts’ (not trying to say all Republicans perverts here) “new plan” to deal with scandals:

His (Larry Craig’s) swift condemnation marks a growing imperative among congressional Republicans to punish their own after the party was battered by a string of scandals over the past three years.

The 2006 midterm elections were “a disaster for the Republican Party as much because of scandal as because of Iraq,” said Larry Sabato, the director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia. “They don’t want to face another scandal.”

Color me skeptical: of course they’re excited about a chance to condemn a fellow Republican for sexual shenanigans in a bathroom. When they start condemning the financial shenanigans of the likes of Duke Cunningham and Tom DeLay and Bob New — before they’re convicted and sent to jail — then maybe I’ll be impressed.

Don’t forget gay sexual shenanigans. If you’re David Vitter and cheat on your wife the “traditional” way, then you applauded when you return to the Senate.
