Prez Clinton Was In The House

Did anybody catch Bill Clinton’s stop at the Water Street Music Hall yesterday? He was supposed to speak on behalf of Hillary’s Presidential campaign, as well as play the saxophone. It would be great to get some firsthand reports, in the meantime, here’s a couple culled from local news reports. From RNews:

Most say Mr. Clinton left them feeling optimistic about our country’s future. “When I hear him speak there’s just a sense of hope that’s inside of me that I want again, I miss that in our president,” Gates resident Julie Hutchinson said. “I’m just really glad I’m here. I’m glad I brought my daughters; I wanted them to have this learning experience.”

The Messenger Post:

[16-year-old  Joradana] Gilman said she thinks America is ready for the first woman president.

“ I think that its time for change and I think that America wants change,” she said. “I think Hillary will have a transparent government, she wants government reform, she’s been formulating her policies for longer than some of the candidates have been alive, and I think that we’re ready and I want it.”

Wow, 16 years old, and she’s already hip to the value of transparent government. That gives me a lot of hope.

i was there and it was great. ever the diplomat, he said, ‘i love campaigning for someone and not against anyone. chris dodd, joe biden and bill richardson should be applauded for their service to this country and i love hearing what senators obama and edwards have to say.’ he spoke for quite a while for what amounted to a rally. it was wicked hot in the hall, but no one seemed to care as slick willy spun his usual mesmerizing web over the crowd. he went into great detail as to why hillary should be prez and also touched on why we upstaters are important in a seemingly safe blue state.

Had it not been a fundraiser for Hillary I most certainly would have attended.

that was the brilliance of the event. i went with 2 other people, and among the three of us, only one supports hillary, but we all paid our 25 bucks happily to shake hands with the ex prez. and i saw many others i know to be supporting other folks there as well.

I know Jordana. I think she’s head of the Brighton High School Young Democrats club. Good for her.
