I guess it beats packing heat
From the D&C (via the Elmira Star-Gazette):
Rep. Randy Kuhl, R-Hammondsport, has ordered his three district offices locked as a security measure to keep out anti-war protesters.
“We’ve increased our security to protect ourselves from future, more radical protesters,” said Kuhl spokeswoman Meghan Tisinger. “I believe we have received some threats, but I’m not positive about the nature of them.”
(snip)
A woman inside the office refused to identify herself and said the order to keep the doors locked came from Washington.

MORON! Plain and simple. Kuhl just does and says the wrong thing all the time.
He believes there were threats. Why not do a little research and state with certainty that there was a threat. Sounds alot like “weapons of mass destruction”. That “threat” was nonexistent.
With this constituent lock out, Randy has created a grassroots theme for 2008. He locks us out of local offices, we lock him out of Washington in Nov. 2008.
I think about it this way…Randy Kuhl is a coward. Why? Because his constituents live with far greater threats then he ever will…like lack of health insurance, living in neighborhoods of high crime and drugs.
His reaction in this situation is nothing short of outrageous.
But I agree with hiwayman…lets lock him out.
If I was running those protests, I’d get a copy of the and read that out loud (replacing the word zombie with protester). Kuhl’s office going into lock down to “protect” themselves from John Lennon caliber protesters is as ridiculous as preparing for an invading army of the undead.
What morons. They can’t even tell us exactly what threat was made, or state definitively that a threat was made. You would think that if there was an actual threat made, there would be a police report and Rethuglicans screaming to the media about this. But neither of those things have happened, so the only conclusion is that there has been no threat. Its something that Kuhl has made up in his own mind.
