Maybe it's time to do sdome digging into Lonsberry history - like why he was really let go by Gannett, his marriages, his racist comments about the former mayor - and so raise doubts about his credibility.

Paraphrasing Lonsbilly: Some smart-aleck college professors got so irate about a pickup-truck driving mormon that they got together and made the whole thing up! It's a conspiracy, I tell you! They're trying to take away my freedom!

My God, Bob. How embarassing for you. There's as close to near unanimity of opinion as you can get amongst atmospheric scientists. The only disagreement is around how quickly catastrophic change will happen (within our lifetimes?).

<blockquote>"The evidence for warming having happened on the planet is unequivocal," said U.S. government scientist Susan Solomon, who also is a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

"We can see that in rising air temperatures, we can see it in changes in snow cover in the Northern Hemisphere. We can see it in global sea rise. It's unequivocal," she said. </blockquote

And Lonsbilly thinks she just wants to take away his pickup truck. Wait, let me guess... evolution's just a 'theory', too, right? Gravity? Hah! I'll believe it when I see it!

Earth to Bob: You're not smarter than the thousands of independent researchers who have all reached the same conclusion: it's getting hotter, quickly, and humans are mostly responsible. Science is MUCH more capable of reaching a truthful conclusion than you, or your political party, or your cult religion.

Look, I don't like the truth either. It stinks. I really, really wish this wasn't happening. But shouting "liar liar" isn't going to change things.

We can debate about how to stop this. We can discuss the costs of doing something vs. the costs of not doing anything. We can even debate whether or not we should bother to try to do anything at all.

But you simply cannot argue the scientific facts.

PS: Bob, the moon landing was real, too.
