Corruption is a stinky cologne

Reader tothesea stumbled onto Sahar’s post about the county’s Ambulance contract, and had this story to tell:

Here I am thinking about what my parents went through yesterday in Webster and lo and behold I run across this thread.

My parents (who are not in the best of health) had an incident yesterday which got me thinking. Dad fell in the yard after my mother walked in, and couldn’t get up. He banged on the wall with the cane until mom got help. Monroe Ambulance was called.

My mom had gotten the neighbor who refused to allow my parents to be billed over 650 dollars to have them lift my father, turned them away and drove to West Webster Firehouse and got the volunteer ambulance to come over and get my dad in the house. Many times seniors have several calls a year like this, this was my parents’ second this year.

This all got me thinking that this Stinks of another Republican County contract, and searching the net tonight, I find this thread. When is the stench going to cease from this County administration and the old boys behind it?
My father lay on the ground a half hour while a neighbor did the right thing for them. He could have paid it, but the point is, his neighbor knew the right thing to do, why doesn’t our county? Why rape our seniors some more?

It is time for a clean County government. I think that, like the bigger picture, we have all seen and experienced about enough.

Yep. This is what happens when you privatize services that are supposed to be for the common good. Like in the olden days when a fire companies would let your burning house if you weren’t able to afford it.

I’ve heard of kids being sent via ambulance from school to the hospital via the private services and it costing upwards of $500 b/c the schools didn’t (can’t?) call the volunteer ambulance.
