Nowhere to hide
We’re continuing our wall-to-wall coverage of pistol-gate by finding every D&C blog post where the controversy is mentioned. Here’s the latest from Tobin, which he tried to hide from our prying eyes by placing it in the political blog:
A lot of people write about the Web and blogs and the rest as if they know what’s up and can fit it into some ideology of post-post-modern mass communication. But a medium this large and global in scope is a beast not close to being caught, much less reined in and tamed. In simplest terms, information, or misinformation, seems to speed across the world with all the alacrity and self-control of a whisper from one child’s mouth to another’s ear. Hence, a remark no more momentous than a parting comment from a guard-down politician - such as was made here this week by Randy Kuhl - moves into the national jet stream, distorted of course and cooked to satisfy partisan tastes, lickety-split.
I’m with Rotten on this one: I just don’t see where the distortion came in. Kuhl said he was thinking about packing at the end of an interview in which he spent a lot of time discussing the protests at his office. In the absence of another explanation of his comments — and the D&C’s suggestion that it had something to do with the anniversary of 9/11 just isn’t plausible (and even if it were, it would just make Kuhl look even more foolish) — it’s reasonable to assume he’s thinking of “packing” to protect himself from peace protesters.

It was NOT taken out of context, it is what it is and perm-boy will just have to live with it. I didn’t see anybody from the D&C boo-hoong when Howard Dean’s scream was taken totally out of context and destroyed his bid for the presidency. These people just reek of hypocrisy.
Just to be perfectly clear, this is a scan of what was printed in the dead-tree newspaper. Click for the full article.
Thank you Itchy. Enough said.
Maybe he meant by arming himself that he intended to grow 2 or 3 more? Note to Randy: it’s not arms, nor packing you need worry about - it’s a brain…and to think - this is “GOP Congressional Material”.
I’m in the wrong business.
