There were freakin Tornados in NYC!

Last time I was aware of a tornado in a major metro Area - LA was racked by five of them in The Day after Tomorrow.

But NYC hit by a Tornado - WOW.

I mean in July 12 we had this one and then August 8th we had this one. Maybe it is me but if you look at the tornado history of NYC. There have been 6 since 1985.

6 since 1985. None before that best I can tell.

I grew up in Hicksville, NY, which is not far from NYC, in the middle of Nassau County.

We had a tornado about 2 blocks from my house when I was about 15 (that would be somewhere around 1970).

That would not be recorded as a NYC tornado, but I don’t think there’s any important distinction between tornadoes in my home town and tornadoes in NYC.

Still, I’m sure the thrust of your point is correct — there are more tornadoes now than there were many years ago.

There have been many tornadoes in the overall metro area. The website I linked to had a list (in 1970 there was a tornado on Sept 27th in Nassau county might that be the one?).

Cities tend to have/create their own weather so I found it unusual.

I don’t remember the details. Impeach me.

There are two possibilities here:
1) God hates NYC liberals, and He is trying to smite them.
2) The Weather Service is run by atmospheric scientists - known liberals - and they are pushing their liberal agenda down our throats.

Not to make light of the situation, but I was watching Good Morning America yesterday and with many streets closed to traffic so debris could be cleaned up, people got to enjoy walking in the street instead of on crowded side walks. Hope some people get the idea to just leave their cars parked and walk.
