Spitzer to live blog at The Albany Project

Our friends at The Albany Project will have live-blogging with governor Eliot Spitzer over the next couple weeks. Here’s some of the governor’s first post:

Clearly much more work is left to be done. It will not be easy and mistakes will be made, but as any public servant knows, I cannot do it alone. I want to partner with you transform these lofty ambitions into concrete accomplishments. Public activism and engagement is the best way to make politicians stand up and take notice.

I will do my part by live-blogging in the next few weeks at The Albany Project, but I look forward to reading your comments to this diary to get the dialogue started. I hope that you will join me in discussing the ways we can make New York and the nation better.

One Response to “Spitzer to live blog at The Albany Project”

  1. This is, of course, a big deal, but I’d like to gripe a bit:
Spitzer’s post is written a lot like a news release. The one he sent to TAP and the one he sent to Daily Kos are the exact same. If he were smart, he’d send a modified version to TAP that acknowledges that they know exactly what he’s achieved so far, and instead praises their help, campaigns, blograiser, and so forth.

Furthermore, he got 418 comments (at the time of this post) on his diary on Daily Kos.. He responded (rather insubstantially) with only four comments.

On the TAP site, the actual New York Blog where he’d be interacting with his actual constitutents, Spitzer received an easily manageable 12 comments. He still hasn’t responded to any of them.

Right now, I appreciate the gesture, but let’s just say my enthusiasm is rather dampened by the lack of any substantive two-way communication.
