“They chose to do this”

This makes my blood boil. From the news account of the protest at Randy Kuhl’s office in Bath (see our earlier post):

Eleanor Sample came to Kuhl’s office to protest the protesters.

“I talked to a few people that say they support the troops just not the administration, what do you say to that?” asked Newschannel 36’s Stephanie Esposito.

“Huh! That’s what’s such a farce. Supporting the troops, support ‘em then. Let them do their job that they chose to do. They chose to do this. They did not get drafted,” says Sample.

Our troops chose to serve our country. They did not choose to go fight a needless war, they did not choose to go in without a strategy, and they did not choose to babysit a civil war.
