Spector on Nachbar drop out

Yesterday we told you that David Nachbar has dropped out of the race for NY-29, where he was running against Eric Massa in the Democratic primary. Joe Spector has an article up about this now, quoting from the letter that Nachbar sent to supporters:

In his letter, Nachbar cites the pending sale of Bausch & Lomb as the reason for his decision and said he will refund all contributions to his campaign. Nachbar, 45, of Pittsford, serves as B&L’s senior vice president for human resources.“As you can imagine, the needs of the almost 13,000 employees of Bausch & Lomb must be my first priority at this time,” he wrote. “My very dedicated co-workers need to have the confidence that every member of their leadership team is focused on doing the right thing for them, the shareholders and the community. It has never been my way to cut and run on those who need me — and I won’t do so now.”

The “cut and run” remark has an unpleasant ring to it — and that kind of language certainly suggests that he’s not thinking about the County Exec race. Dang.

I know. I wish Dems would chose language other than conservative terms and phrases. Maybe it’s an attempt to woo GOPers in the 29th?

Sorry, but this man has nothing to offer the voters of the 29th. This is his second time dropping out of the running.

If you truly have ideas for the district and you truly believe you are the best person for the job and you’ve announced you are running, they you should run no matter what anyone says.

This man has no credibility.

He has no problem cutting & running on the people of the 29th. Oh, wait. You can’t cut and run if you were never there to begin with. I always thought that if he was truly serious about running, he’d have quit his job when he first announced he was running. It’s not like he had to keep his job in order to put food on the table. It was clear that he had other priorities from the very start. Thank god he’s dropping out. Hopefully, he has fallen from graces with the DCCC and they won’t be shoving him at us ever again.
