When Freepers attack!
This is funny. A few weeks ago, we posted about some of the offensive comments that were taking place in the story chats in the Democrat and Chronicle. What’s funny is that Rochester Veteran, who comments regularly on the D&C blogs — and is extremely right-wing but is generally not offensive or racist — took great umbrage on this and posted about it on FreeRepublic. He wrote:
Folks, I’ve posted before about my experiences in discussions with leftists on the Rochester, NY, Democrat and Chronicle, internet discussion Forum. An activist leftist blog named rochesterturning.com has declared war on all of us conservatives who post on the Forum and they are painting us as racist, knuckle-draggers and ready to gang up on those of us who are currently posting.
Since then, we’ve been getting comments like this:
- * “Can’t wait till you can get those castro-esque re-education camps going, can you.”
- * “Sorry, libs, er, I mean “progressives.†You can’t escape the Freepers. We are EVERYWHERE. Especially the voting booths. Piss off a liberal…buy a gun.”
All of which pretty much proves our original point.
I knew they were freepers…
Wow, my little post was a declaration of war? Hardly. A plea for help is more like it! For whatever reason we’re vastly outnumbered on the storychats.
RV is actually someone whose opinions I generally respect; he’s a very principled person. I disagree with him 95% percent of the time, but he’s not a name-calling nut or anything. He’s stubborn as a mule and unwilling to compromise, but I’ve always felt like he was a stand-up guy despite our extreme political differences.
I think I’m going to start calling myself a “leftist” instead of a progressive, or a liberal. Maybe buy a little Castro hat. That’ll show ‘em…
So who’s got enough clout on Kos to issue a call for reinforcements?
