Robach’s Money Problem
It seems local Sen. Joe Robach (R) may have dipped a little too deeply into the pocketbook of 1199 SEIU, one of NY’s largest unions.
According to NYS Board of Elections records, Robach received $8,500 from 1199 on June 21, 2006, which, if left at that, would have been fine. Unfortunately for us, 1199 donated another $6,000 about one month later on July 20, 2006. For a grand total of $14,500.
Even under this year’s contribution limits, Robach would have been restricted to $9,500, but last year’s limit was even less at $8,500 (I couldn’t find an archived link with last year’s limits, so you’ll have to take my word on it).
Ideally, Robach and the union should be fined. But we all know that’s not going to happen.
So, what do you think will happen? My bet is nothing, but feel free to call Sen. Robach at (585) 225-3650 and ask for yourself (just keep us posted on what his office is saying).

I’m all for taking Robach to task on this one but shouldn’t the same be done to the SEIU for peddling and purchasing influence beyond the legal limits? Why does the union get a pass on this one?
I called Robach’s office and spoke with his CoS Kirk who wouldn’t answer me except to say he’d look into it. He did say he’d post here. I look forward to his thoughts
