More trouble for Rudy in South Carolina

A few days ago we told you that Rudy’s South Carolina campaign manager — Thomas Ravenel — was busted for slinging crack rock (sorry, can’t pass up the opportunity to quote Biggie Smalls with my description, hope the D&C doesn’t consider that gangster rap). That guy has been replaced by his father — Arthur Ravenel — who has a history of making nasty racist remarks. Here he is decrying the NAACP boycott of South Carolina over the state’s refusal to take the Confederate Flag down from the Statehouse (the state eventually took it down), via TPM:
Republican state Sen. Arthur Ravenel told the crowd at a Statehouse rally that lawmakers should not cave into the pressure of outside influences when they return next week for a legislative session that is certain to take up the divisive issue.
Ravenel told the crowd that he was recently confronted with questions by an out-of-state reporter who asked: “Aren’t you people in South Carolina worried about what the people in the rest of the country think about you?” To which the crowd shouted back with a resounding “No.”
“Can you believe that there are those who think that the General Assembly of South Carolina is going to . . . knuckle under, roll over and do the bidding (of) that organization known as the National Association for Retarded People?” lawmaker Ravenel asked the cheering crowd.

..but you can’t hide.
If Ravenel is convicted of distribution of cocaine, he can serve as much as 20 years in prison. I would say that it is more likely that he will cut a “plea deal†to serve a short amount of time behind bars along with probation.
If Ravenel cuts a “plea dealâ€ÂÂ, in other words, “pleads guilty†then the Feds should insist that he roll over on a “Bigger Fish†If he does not roll over, then he should do some serious jail time with the rest of the “Cocaine Distributorsâ€ÂÂ.
