Just what we need another hotel
Well, it is finally open for business. From the D&C
June 10, 2007) — New 120-room hotel
A new hotel has entered the region’s lodging market. The Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Rochester Marketplace has opened at 800 Jefferson Road, Henrietta. The 120-room, three-story hotel features a business center, banquet room, restaurant and indoor pool.
Frankly, I was tired of looking at the construction. Looks nice though. Anyway it is conveniently located 1.7 miles from the soon to be former Wellesley Inn. Where Andy and Manish Patel will be using their COMIDA grants to create a new job - an entire new job.
Does anyone know if this Holiday Inn received a COMIDA grant?

I have it, on good authority, that it did.
I can’t confirm this but I was told that the Holiday Inn also received COMIDA funds and was berated for not using all local union labor to build it. Can anyone confirm this??
What is even more outrageous is the $10.5 million public sector subsidy to build just 80 housing units at high falls. That works out to over $130,000/unit public subsidy per housing unit!
Ok-Here is the authoritative word on the Holiday Inn. They received COMIDA fund ing, but when they hired non-union workers, the funding was recalled.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
