In case you missed it…
Well there is a lot good stuff this week. Have fun…
Let’s start with a home run post by Laddkiddo on Breastfeeding. Yep, breastfeeding and the politics behind it.
Then there is a post about a solemn remembrance ceremony on the 63rd anniversary of D-Day and remember the Memorial Day weekend matinees post?
Local Politics anyone? - Daedalus has some great posts on LD 15 and Monroe County voter misrepresentation.
Exile, inspired by a post at Mustard street, who, in turn have been inspired by our series on the South Wedge Business’ (masterfully done by Optimusprime) has a post about the South Wedge Farmers Market. Of course our regular Better Know a Wedge series highlighting THREAD- where you can buy made in the US clothing.
Exile delivers with this take on Massa allowing access to the press conferences - (covered by Rottenchester). Remember this invitation to the D&C about covering Kuhl’s conferences? Can you say deaf ears? Yo D&C, take the money you are saving not providing the Sunday TV Guide and assign someone to report on these these conferences.
Then there is this post by Sayhar - Give Congress back its brain. Sounds like good questions to ask Randy Kuhl at his next round of town hall meetings. Oh, there there is Sayhar live blogging the 1st Dem Presidential debate - in the comments section. [Seriously, some of the best liveblogging commentary I've read in a while. -btp]
Finally - more on COMIDA -specifically the misguided spectacle that is the COMIDA award for Brighton Lodging - Check out these clips - Bob Hurlbut’s tortured justification for granting COMIDA benefits (waterboard me - please) , my take on the kangaroo court that is the COMIDA board which becomes very apparent because applicants who sign multimillion dollar deals with the EXPECTATION that they will get a COMIDA great otherwise the deal they just signed doesn’t make sense.
Speaking of boosting upstate economies, check out the Center for Excellence post by btp who builds upon a great post by Rochacha Rant. We need more than money. We need leadership and people who will motivate and lead us through the difficult not the easy.
Which leads back to simplicity and the dangers of looking at everything with glasses that color everything, not rose but, simple.
I’m sure I missed some as well so mention them them in the comments.
