Koon won’t run for County Exec, but Kevin Murray might
Per the D&C:
Monroe County Democrats can scratch Assemblyman David Koon off their list of potential county executive candidates, but they may have another well-known political name in the mix: former county Legislator Kevin Murray.
Democratic leaders said they are reaching out to Murray, who ran for mayor in 1993 and who served on the legislature for 28 years, as a possible candidate to run against Republican Executive Maggie Brooks in November.

“I think he’s willing to talk about it, and I’m trying to encourage people in the party to reach out to him,” said county party chairman Joseph Morelle.
Murray, who retired from the legislature in 2005 because of term limits, said Thursday that he was considering a bid but had made no final decision.
