Massa press conference
Rottenchester has an excellent summary of the phone press conference that Eric Massa held yesterday. It covers a lot of ground and I recommend the whole thing. Massa answered questions about immigration, fundraising, townhalls and house parties (something both he and Kuhl are very good about, frankly), and Iraq, where Massa says he believes Bush could have been forced to compromise much more had the Democrats held their ground – Bush would have been “the only person standing on the diving board”, as Massa put it.
It’s great that Massa is letting bloggers be part of these press conferences, great that he gave such thoughtful answers, and great that Rottenchester did such a thorough job of reporting on the conference (as well as asking a number of good questions).
Sorry to be so positive — I know it’s not like me.

What is this? Massa answers questions, voluntarily? I don’t believe it. After all, our if our elected representative, John R. Kuhl, who works for us, the people, refuses to answer questions, why should Massa? What is wrong with him?
Oh wait … I have it backwards … both Kuhl and Massa should answer questions put to them. Whew! That feels better.
Demand answers from Kuhl!
Glad to hear it. Are there transcripts?
No, but I’m looking into technology to record the press conf. and post it as a podcast.
I don’t know if there’s the bandwidth out there for a weekly 30 minute Massa press conference at this time of year. Kuhl’s aren’t well-attended or well-reported.
I don’t understand what you’re saying. Do you mean that 30 min podcasts take up too much bandwidth to use? Or do you mean that no one would listen to them?
Awesome! You and I think eerily alike sometimes.
…Rottenchester.
I’ve been to House Parties and I’ve been to Town Meetings. I think Massa should do an open meeting, like the Town Meetings, where all could hear him. I know House Parties usually brings out those who are already in his corner, but an Open Meeting could bring out people who are interested but doesn’t get invited to House Meetings. In places like my Yates County I would think two or three meetings would be enough to cover the whole county.
He’s got one scheduled for Saturday at 9 am in Belfast… check his site’s events calendar
