The Democratic 15th LD
I’ve been blogging on the 15th LD for some time now and I have noticed that there are at least a few interested individuals that desire a strong candidate from the Democratic side. Well, according to sources very close to me I have been informed that these people will not have to wait any longer and that earlier this week, if not sooner, a candidate will be announced.
So here is what I come asking today for all those in the 15th LD, “what do you seek in your local representation.†From what I am told, from what I have witnessed myself, and from what I have read here the people in Brighton/Penfield/Webster certainly aren’t too pleased with Steve Minarik’s boy Dan Quatro. For those of you outside of the 15th LD, what is that you expect out of your Legislature.
At the Democratic Nominating Convention Mayor Duffy stated that Democrats own some of the problems in the City/County and that we need to own up to these problems and seek out new and innovative ways of fixing not only these problems, but all of the problems. Well, as I’ve touched on before, the Republicans certainly own their fair share of problems too. In fact, I think that the argument could be made that anything that has gone through the County Legislature/Executive office (Water Authority, COMIDA) could be blamed on the Republican stranglehold on local Government. Isn’t it about time we changed this? People of the 15th LD, help is on the way.

I hope your ’sources’ are right and that the Democrats put up a viable candidate against Dan “The Invisible Man” Quatro. When I mean viable that doesn’t include some washed-up politician, or wannabe. We in the 15th LD are looking for leadership. If we want a bench-warmer we would keep the guy currently in office. Quatro has to be one of the worst legislators in Monroe County history if you look at his record while in office. Quatro’s tongue must be sore by now licking Minarik’s boots.
What I can tell you is that this person has never run for public office before, is young, new to the scene, energetic and willing to learn.
Tell this person the key to victory is for him/her to get out there and go door-to-door and introduce themselves to the electorate because many people in the 15LD have no idea who Quatro is, let along what he looks like. I also hope the Democratic Party of Monroe County will spend some money on this candidate. I can also testify that there are a number of Republicans that will NOT vote for Quatro because his Daddy is the Conservative Party leader in Webster, and mostly because he’s done nothing while in office. As a registered Republican I’m saying that if the Democrats put up a hard-working candidate, who understands the issues and is willing to seek out votes, that person stands a good chance of winning.
I was ’shocked’ to read in Tuesday’s Democrat & Chronicle that the Independence Party endorsed Quatro for re-election. What did they base their endorsement on; the fact he is breathing? It can’t be his record in office, nor the fact that few people in his district have any idea what this guy looks like since he’s never around (except at party fundraisers). Without the backing of a second party it appears your Democratic candidate stands little chance defeating Quatro this November and that’s truly a shame because the people in the 15LD will end up once again being represented by someone who has displayed little interest in meeting his constituents. Someone might seriously think of sending Quatro some “No-Doze” so he can stay awake at legislature meetings.
Another point I forgot to make is that Quatro will also be endorsed by the Conservative Party since his Daddy is the local chairman in Webster. So that gives “The Invisible Man” three lines on the fall ballot.
Sorry but your Democratic candidate doesn’t stand a chance of winning in November.
What if he gets a WFP endorsement?
