What’s going on at the D&C blogs?
I don’t check on the D&C blogs too much anymore, since I find Lawrence and Tobin infuriatingly one note and a few of the town bloggers (particularly the guy from Pittsford) to be right-wing nuts, but when I checked today, things had changed. First off, they’ve got a new voice of the voter blog, with a big Fox News style American flag graphic, though on the bright side, Ken Preston — who used to run the meet ups for MCDC and seems like a good guy — is a contributor.
More disturbingly, the Henrietta blog seems to be gone. Does anyone know what’s up with that? Is it there and I’m missing it? Here’s the link for the list of all blogs there.
I have a feeling there’s some kind of foul play there. Maybe — shudder — Peter Boulay (the old Henrietta blogger) filed an FOIA they didn’t like or called Lawrence and Tobin on some of their silliness.

When changing D&C bloggers the old posts would remain on the page in the interim. As in the case of the Fairport/Perinton blogger:

We’re down with the FOIAs
Hello all…yes I’m alive. I have separated from the D&C due to “Creative Disagreements”. This process has been incredibly stressful and difficult for myself and my family, however there are lessons to be learned (on both sides?). I am currently trying to recover from some health issues the stress brought up and ponder the future direction of my writing. J–your invitation is acknowledged and added to my list of ponderings.
You’ll hear from me shortly. Please offer kind thoughts for my family as we’re going through some rough times right now
Hang in there man! The dinosaurs may be trying to stomp on us furry little mammals as we scurry around, but in a 100 million years or so (what’s that in internet time?) we’ll be the dominant species!
I hope that Pete ends up writing for RT. I think the constraints that the D&C puts on its bloggers make the blogs less interesting than they could be. Also, I hope that Pete will give us the “inside scoop” of how the D&C limits bloggers, and why they decided to shut him down.

I’m totally imagining a cardboard cutout of a cartoon character holding it’s hand up next to the rollercoaster for the D&C blogs - you must be this conservative to write on the D&C’s blog
So much for their attitude of “the blog belong to the bloggers and don’t represent the opinion of the D&C” - I mean really, look at the LTE’s today, they are SOOOOO CONSERVATIVE. Not a single left wing one
I’m the Gates blogger, and most peopel would not call me conserviative. I have never felt constrained by the folks at the D & C.
I am sorry to see Peter go, though.
The Brighton Blogger has also been dropped as I was informed today–the paper confirmed this as well in a brief article today.
Lee-thank you-you’re a good man, but you don’t get “edgy” either. Get “edgy” and see what happens.

I haven’t had a problem with the bloggers themselves so much, it’s the people posting Story Chat comments that are the right-wing nuts.
RT readers (myself included) really should step up and counter their tripe.
