By now you know that that Brighton Lodging LLC was awarded a series of COMDIA tax abatements including sales and mortgage tax abatements. This is the first in a series of video posts that highlight some key points that were made leading up to the COMIDA board decision.

Here is Monroe County Legislator Paul Haney (LD 23) at the Brighton public forum (the same meeting that generated this post) prior to the COMDIA board meeting on 5-15-07.

Here are 6 minutes of solid arguments by an elected offical that ultimatley fell on deaf ears.

Well - you will see later that Mike Townsend upon reporting to the COMIDA board praised Paul Haney’s organization and arguments when reported back to the COMIDA board.

Then again - the COMIDA board ultimately voted to give tax abatements to the Brighton Lodging LLC - anyway. So much for public input.
