Steve Minarik = Karl Rove

    Â

I guess if you are competing for title of evil genius that is a complement. Steve Minarik does his job well. Check out this graf from the D&C article this morning.

Minarik said that as party chairman, it’s his role to be involved in county decisions that have political impact.

So we have ballot measures that look like they are not needed, we have issues created like the library and the pledge of allegiance that are over blown.

Steve Minarik does his job well managing the strings of Maggie Brooks and the Monroe County GOP legislature.

I don’t recall anyone voting for Steve yet he is involved meaning he helps shape policy to ensure maximum political effect.

Steve Minarik does his job well. The question is how well will the Democrats do theirs?

  1. I think Minarik is worse than Rove. Remember that Rove was not known as divisive when he was in Texas (though he was still a slimeball) and most of Bush’s truly terrible decisions were from Cheney not from Rove.

Don’t get me wrong — I believe that Rove is unethical at best and a criminal at worst (we’ll see how the US Attorney scandal falls out), but I think Minarik has been more destructive and mean-spirited, albeit on a smaller scale.

Got to disagree with you here exile. Degrees of “badness” are irrelevant.

Sort of like arguing how was worse Hitler or Stalin. (Lurkers out there this is a metaphor to say they both or bad not necessarily both like Hitler or Stalin)

Playing to win at the cost of your nation or in this case local government is pretty bad regardless.

Yet more intense focus by Republicans extreme short term and hopetey can cash out before things turn bad for them..
