WW II Veteran asks Kuhl to ‘Listen’ on Iraq

A defining moment.

[ev type="youtube" data="hcHnkOwycvk"][/ev]

With great civility and calm, a citizen of our greatest generation tells Congressman Randy Kuhl to safeguard the wellbeing of our veterans and bring our brave men and women home from Iraq.

Will Congressman Kuhl ‘listen’ to the constituents he serves in NY-29 or President George Bush?

Why on earth would he start now? Clearly, he doesn’t have to — judging from the last election — at least, he doesn’t have to listen to THESE constituents. Of course, he’ll PRETEND to listen, in town hall meeting after town hall meeting. Or, maybe, he listens, but then decides that what he hears isn’t enough to make him change the way he acts.

I wish there was a way for the author to edit his/her posts. Then, I could go back and correct the typo above, where I wrote “too” instead of “to.”

That was great. Anyone catch that guys name? Though, sadly, Kuhl will never listen.

I understand the frustration in thinking Randy will not listen. He won’t to one or two voices. But if we all voice our opinon, do it in public forums, in letters, in every possible way, strength in numbers he will not have a choice. We need to remind him that he is an employee, OUR employee, we pay his salary, and if we instruct him that we want him to support a bill that mandates a withdrawal timeline, and he refuses, how will he justify it? If we can as a group document the numbers, that the majority of his employers want this action, how can he continue to rubber stamp Bush’s agenda and ignore our demands. It will be political suicide if we can organize it correctly. By the way, I am a 100% service connected vet and my son is in Iraq. I have a very vested intrest in getting this man removed.

By the way, good job Optimus, but even better job to the speaker… it takes a lot of courage to stand up to your congressman like that, but we’d expect nothing less from a WWII vet.

Wow. I liked Jerry-Kuhl’s snarky smile during this exchange. He doesn’t care. Optimus, I kept waiting for him to jump into the crowd and ask you why you were filming.

Pre-WWII most of the citizens in the US were clearly against going to war with Nazi Germanay or Japan. And Hitler and Tojo did not have the means to put a nuclear bomb in Times Square or in D.C. like the modern day Hitlers do have. Was that the correct view? Of course not. People of good faith can have different opinions is if your theme is that some American citizens have more voting rights than others, then I suggest you read the Constitution.
