ACTION: Call Louise
I think the RochesterTurning community rather unamimously agrees that we disagree with Mrs. Slaughter’s backing of David Nachbar for NY-29. I think we should tell her about it. I’m sure most of you have already.
For those of you who haven’t, here’s her office number in

DailyKos has more: ACTION ALERT: Ask Louise Slaughter to support Eric Massa in NY-29
Personally, I’m sending her an email through her house website.
Just a heads up.

Here’s what I wrote, use it as a sample if you want:
Dear Louise,
I don’t live in your district, but I live very close by in NY-29. I’ve heard rumors that you’re backing David Nachbar in the primary against Eric Massa for US House NY-29. This worries me.
I’m a big fan of yours. Years ago, I’d read articles about how you dared the media to cover your press conferences, and your tireless courage and work is a source of local pride.
Nevertheless, the Nachbar issue troubles me greatly. Now, I am personally in favor of contested primaries. However, contested primaries are nice because they reflect growing citizen participation in politics. This top-down backing of Nachbar accomplishes the opposite effect. We here in NY-29 love Eric. Not only is he a great candidate, but has he grown the brand of the Democratic Party throughout the region.
Furthermore, Nachbar simply cannot win. His image as a corporate executive from the richest suburb in Monroe County simply will not work with local voters.
I have no doubt that Eric will win in a primary regardless. By backing a challenger, however, you are hurting Eric’s campaign by preventing him from campaigning early and often.
Now, many of my colleagues assure me that Mr. Nachbar’s talents could be better used in other elections, such as challenging Monroe County’s current Executive, Maggie Brooks. That may be true.
Louise, I believe that by backing Mr. Nachbar, you are simply playing in Representative Kuhl’s hands.
Please, think about it.
Sincerely,

Is it just me or is everyone having troubling accessing Louise’s gov website? I’ve been trying since early this morning and I’m having no luck.
Works for me
Telling Louise not to back Nachbar seems a little like telling Bill not to back Hillary. Please correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have read it sounds like “Goldbar” is her hand-picked protégé, no? Anybody get through to Louise to hear what she has to say?
