Before you watch ‘60 Minutes’ Tonight…

Keep this in mind.

A group of former intelligence officers delivered a letter to Harper Collins Publishers, publisher of George Tenet’s book.

They mince no words calling bs on Tenet’s ‘victim’ defense and strongly suggest “royalties from your book sales to the veterans and their families, who have paid and are paying the price for your failure to speak up when you could have made a difference. That would be the decent and honorable thing to do.”

Indeed.

Why didn’t Tenet release this back in 2003-2004, back when it would’ve done some good? No, he had to wait until Bush is at sub-30% approval ratings before trying to disavow responsibility.

I watched 60 mis last night. I was disappointed in Tenet’s answers. His words were carefully crafted especially his difference between Torture and the word (can’t recall right now) he used to describe what they did with prisoners.

He seemed more about defending himself rather than fixing the problem. That probably explains why he didn’t come forward earlier. Self-interest over all other.

He was very annoying to watch. Combative yes, remorseful? I didn’t get that from the interview.
