Just a reminder of our cost in blood in Iraq
Let’s ask ourselves what are our members of Congress doing to heed to our collective cries and end this war.
What has changed since I wrote this post?
I remember participating in a vigil when the American troop losses passed 2000 way back in - well, I can’t remember. Yes, I can look it up somewhere but chose not to.
Well - it has been 30 days since the 4 year anniversary. 30 days
March 16, 2007 the number was 3203
April 16, 2007 the number is 3301
Time marches on as we march towards the enevitable withdrawal.
Senators Clinton and Schumer, Congresswoman Slaughter, Congressmen Kuhl, Reynolds, and Walsh where will we be 30 days from today?

I don’t understand the Dems reluctance to support Reid-Feingold (or is it Feingold-Reid?). Looks like I will have to write more letters.
US Casualties By Calendar Year
Year US Deaths US Wounded
2003 486 2408
2004 849 8002
2005 846 5947
2006 822 6389
2007 301 1568
Total 3304 24314
The above stats are from icasualties.org. It seems to me that we’re losing about 70 loved ones per month in the “mission accomplished” war.
I need more sleep. I saw the stats and said, wow, casualties are really down this year. Maybe Bush is really getting the job done finally.
Then I remembered I need to multiply by 3, since we’re like, a third of the way through the year.
Maybe when my youngest starts sleeping through the night. Yeah, that’s it. Zzzzzzzz…
btp,
Don’t worry, I did the same thing. I have 4 at home, so I’m with you…
