Jack Moran - Bowling Legend, or GOP Brownnose?

Ok, in the MYDD post’s comments section, we learned that there is a PAC called the “Bowling Proprietors Association” which donated $55,000 to House candidates… all GOP. The question I was wondering, was who is Jack Moran, owner of Roseland Bowling? Well according to Bowl.com’s biography…
Jack Moran, Canandaigua, N.Y.
BPAA’s president from 2002-04, Moran also has served on the BPAA Board as Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer and chaired the BPAA Awards and Executive Evaluation Committees and sat on numerous other BPAA committees. He earned BPAA’s Certificate of Achievement in 1997.Moran is the President of Roseland Bowl where he annually conducts the very successful “Wild Irish Rose” Tournament attracting participants from all along the East Coast and Canada. In addition to having coached bowling on the high school level, he is an adjunct faculty member at the Finger Lakes Community College where he instructs and coaches bowling while staying very active in his local community.
Wanna see who the Bowling Proprietors gave to under Jack’s leadership in 2002 (82% Republicans)? 2004 (97% Republicans)? They gave to real winners such as Tom DeLay, Roy Blunt, David Dreirer, Trent Lott, and Mitch McConnell.
So come on Backspin Randy, don’t brag about using our $2.5 Million of our Tax Dollars to scratch your boss’s buddy’s back while allowing our veterans to be stabbed in theirs.
Update: Rotten says we’re over reacting:
What both sites seem to be missing is that this is a loan guarantee, not a loan. If Roseland pays back the loan, the loan will cost the government nothing. Because the government guarantees the loan, Roseland benefits by having a lower interest rate.
Update 2 from J: I disagree with Rotten on the importance of this issue. Although this is a guaranteed loan, it’s $2.5 million worth of insurance for our bowlers rather than our vets!

Another Strike in the Bowling Story…
Rochesterturning reports that Jack Moran, the proprietor of Roseland Bowl is a former chair of the Bowling Proprietors Association of America, an association which gave $55K to mostly Republicans in the 2006 cycle. Randy Kuhl wasn’t one of them. MyDD….
I bet we’ll heard about this in a Kuhl ad next year, “I brought hundreds of millions of dollars back to out disteict….”. When are people going to wake up and ralize that he is spending our money to help his friends?
Loan guarantees from the Federal government are kind of, um, valuable. This one is worth
“>$10k a month.
