Some tidbits from Maffei at DFA

I just got back from seeing Dan Maffei speak at today’s DFA meeting. We should have some video up later, but I thought I’d share some interesting tidbits with you. Maffei is fount of interesting information and it’s always interesting to see him speak, even when it’s something casual:

  • * He thinks the three freshmen Democrats in upstate New York — Hall, Arcuri, and Gillibrand are all very well-positioned to win a second term.
  • * In 2006, Jim Walsh blew through $500 grand in money that he’d saved up from running unopposed in 2004.
  • * This came from an audience member: because of Rochester’s large deaf community, it is important to get close captioning for political ads that run on Rochester t.v. That makes perfect sense — but I’d never thought of it.
  • * Monroe County is supposed to get a DNC field organizer.
