Let me try that again and see if I can get it to post the way I intended (sorry). I was trying to just strike out the "godfather" reference....

It may be past time for the papers to start hiring crime reporters to cover the Republican party. Village Voice is certainly doing a good job following the godfather — I mean, Ambassador Garganno of Port Authority and Empire State Development Corporation fame/infamy. (AJ Kearney has also contributed pro bono expertise to cleaning up the mess he left behind at ESDC, presumably in the pursuit of a fairer capitalism in the Empire State). And, Times Union just won an investigative journalism award for prying loose in court the info on NYS member items (admittedly, both parties participated in that, and there has been a Dem conviction…. but, only Uncle Joe Bruno has member items under investigation by the FBI….. that is, I think, the definition of a “federal case”). The Syracuse Post-Standard went to court to get the goods on Empire Zone swindles under Pataki (delivered by the court during Sunshine Week, how appropriate!). So, yeah, Rochester, get those D&C slackers going, there is big work to be done out there!
