Withdrawal Timeline survives in the Senate

The final tally was 50-48-2

The majority of Democratic senators along with Republican senators Hagel and Smith upheld a challenge by Senate GOPers to amend and remove the Iraq withdrawal timeline from the Iraq supplemental legislation which was passed in the House.

Roll Call for Amendment to Iraq Supplemental Bill

As Borat would say…’Great Success’.

This is a good indicator the Senate will pass the bill later this week. Lets pray and hope the Senate will follow through. Makes you wonder…what is Bush thinking right about now after this major defeat?

What is Bush thinking right now? One word: veto.

Either that or he will neuter the law with a signing statement.

Good thing he never got the line item veto in the last congress… “High Five!”
