Walsh’s comments

Longtime readers of this blog know that while I disagree with Randy Kuhl (and consider him to somewhat of an idiot), I reserve my true scorn for Jim Walsh. He also voted against the Iraq supplemental/withdrawal mandate today.  Here’s his statement about it:

“This legislation micromanages the war on terror and effectively creates 535 armchair generals in Washington who will undermine the authority of commanders in Iraq. We don’t need to run the war on the ground in Iraq from the floor of the House.

Kuhl has the excuse of legitimately representing a district that includes some of the most backwards parts of New York State. There are undoubtedly many people in Steuben County who still believe in “Mission Accomplished.” But do you think many people in Penfield buy what Walsh is selling these days? I doubt it.

There’s that word again, micromanage. I hate how the GOP is parroting this as their talkig point on the supplemental bill, first of all as though the executive branch and thus the military is something that should be completely absolved of oversight. And again, I ask, how can somthing be micromanaged if it has not actually been managed??? I’m really not talking semantics here, I really want to know what the real thinking is if indeed its not some baloney phrase.
