MoveOn radio ads target Walsh

I can’t find the info on the MoveOn site yet but here’s the details:

The liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org, a leading voice on the left against the Iraq war, will back the Democratic leadership’s Iraq funding bill, despite their misgivings about the legisaltion.

MoveOn will also begin airing radio spots in the districts of GOP Reps. Phil English (Pa.) and James Walsh (N.Y.) bashing the lawmakers for opposing the Democratic measure.

(snip)

“Congressman Walsh should develop a backbone and stand up to the President’s misguided plan in Iraq,” said Tom Matzzie, Washington Director of MoveOn.org Political Action. “We overwhelmingly voted to end the war in November and its time for Congress to follow that mandate.”

Walsh voted for the non-binding resolution… now we’ll see if he ACTUALLY wants to end the war or if Dan Maffei just scared him into insincerity.

  2. I don’t know what vote MoveOn is referring to. Walsh is on the appropriations committee - did he vote against the Iraq bill there? This seems like it could blow up if Walsh votes for the bill on the floor.

Not sure Rotten… The MoveOn article didn’t really explain it much… hopefully, once the ad is out we’ll have a more specific explanation
