Some thoughts on tomorrow’s town hall

Just a quick thought about tomorrow’s town hall meeting in Mendon (10:30 - 11:30 am, Mendon Community Center, Falls Post 664, 167 North Main St in the Village of Honeoye Falls): let’s remember that Randy Kuhl is not George Bush, didn’t start the war, isn’t responsible for the Bush administration’s ethical problems, and so on. Rather than simply bashing him, let’s look for a wedge. He didn’t fire those attorney generals and he didn’t start the war. Let’s look to try to create daylight between him and George Bush — or pin him down to an unpopular Bush position.

And stem cells, as always, is a good issue to ask him about.

Update. To clarify: my point is that we should try to pin him down as supporting Bush’s most egregious actions, such as the US Attorney firings, as well as the war. Bush would not win in this district (not now) — Kuhl has to either distinguish himself from Bush or face losing the election. We see Kuhl as a puppet of Bush — we need to make it clear to voters that this really is the case.

Even though he is not George Bush, we are continuingly losing faith in our government. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem–and since he voted against limiting the power of lobbyists, and then quickly used a loop-hole to get more money from a lobbysits he becomes part of the problem. The same when he voted against a bill which he once co-sponsored, and voting against having the goverment negeotiate with drug companies after receiving funds from the the drug industry. Yes, he is not Pesident Bush, but he supports him whenever he can.

I still say the strategy is the same: pin hiim down or find a wedge.
