More on the Water Authority

I got mine you get what is left over. This is exemplified by a vote tonight regarding health benefits for members of the Monroe County Water Authority.

Answer this question. If these “perks” are now deemed incorrect why are we leaving them in place for the existing members of the water board? Phase them out.

Can someone say - double standard?

Here is the article from the D&C

(March 13, 2007) — The Monroe County Legislature will vote tonight on whether to prohibit future members of the Monroe County Water Authority board from getting health insurance benefits.

County Executive Maggie Brooks and Majority Leader Bill Smith, R-Pittsford, submitted legislation Thursday that would allow current Water Authority board members to receive perks, but future members would be limited to salaries, which range from $7,000 a year to $10,500 a year for the chairperson.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. on the fourth floor of the County Office Building, 39 W. Main St.
