We’ve discussed the Monroe County Water Authority scandal previously. Well, Water Buffalo Press has an update on the legality of perks they get, based on State AG Cuomo’s recent rulings. And how Maggie Brooks is trying to do something about it. Or not. (DragonFlyEye also piles on, as well he should.)

In other words, the Bush Administration has gamed the VA budget to make it appear smaller. This makes the deficit appear smaller, and it also makes tax cuts seem more fiscally responsible.
But I’m sure that’s an isolated incident. They’d never lowball a budget estimate for political purposes. *cough* Medicare *cough*.
