Rudy: do you think this Minarik mailer will help your campaign?
One upstate chairman, Stephen Minarik in Rochester, said he’s been getting pressure from Giuliani allies to sign on. But first he’s holding out for another New York mayor — Michael Bloomberg, even though he knows it’s a long shot.
Would Bloomberg even want his support? Would Giuliani? Nothing says “centrist moderate” like supporters who send out mailers comparing their opponents to terrorists, right?
At least America’s ex-husband has Peter “being in Baghdad is like being in Manhattan” King in his corner. That ought to help with New York State voters.

Let’s stick a .50 Caliber in his hand and send Steve to Baghdad. Better yet, let’s send him as a negotiator. Maybe the Iraqis will unite against him and get the peace and flowers Bush promised.
I still don’t get why they used a woman for that mailer…shock value maybe?
Regarding Peter King; during “The Troubles†in Northern Ireland from the late ‘60’s until recently, Rep. King, quite rightly stood up for those kept under the boot of English Rule for centuries. During that time, he did not downplay the bloodshed in the Six Counties, despite pockets of “normalcyâ€ÂÂ. As an Irish-American who was in Derry and Belfast briefly during that period, and witnessed British collusion with the Apartheid-like Northern Ireland government, I am deeply disappointed. After the 1920’s Irish Civil War between the Pro-Treaty side that accepted Partition, and the I.R.A., who knew the only solution was complete Freedom for an Independent Ireland, some on the Pro-Treaty side that won (who were ironically known as the Free-Staters) began talking openly about an Irish Empire, similar to the British one. How in the world can people be so clear in one eye and so blind in the other? Sadly, Rep. King seems to have that developed affliction.
