At no time did he ever have my address (unless the NSA... well never mind), I'm not in his district, and all they have to do is get a list of addresses within the district (which is very easy to do). I know it probably only cost a few cents... but it's an symptomatic of the inefficient brand of government he supports.

But no, I agree this is not a real "stop the presses" story.

I don't like Kuhl any better than you do but cut him a break here.

If you wrote his office at some point you probably got put on his mailing list. Plenty of people have mailing addresses which differ from their legal residence, so without doing a fair bit of work to match up names on mailing addresses to names of voters in the 29th District (which also costs taxpayer dollars) some mailings will go to people who can't vote in the district. Better that than to possibly miss a constituent, especially since mass mailed postcards are inexpensive to print and to mail.

Also, as frankings go, this one is remarkably apolitical. It's just a list of town hall meeting times and places and a short list of the usual constituent service stuff.

Did the card have the location of the town meeting on the other side? Without that, it seems pretty generic.
