The party of Stephen Minarik and Michael Mixon

Almost two years ago to this very day, our esteemed GOP County Chair Stephen Minarik said that: “The Democrats…can be accurately called the party of Barbara Boxer, Lynne Stewart and Howard Dean.” Lynne Stewart was a lawyer who was convicted of aiding a terrorist. In fact, there was no link between Ms. Stewart and the Democratic party, though Minarik did manage to fool the D&C with a fake picture of her at a Democratic party gathering (the woman in the picture whom he claimed was Lynne Stewart was actually Leslie Cagan of United Peace and Justice; you can read about it here if you scroll about halfway down).

I know, I know…we all already know that Minarik is an a-hole and that the D&C is run by right-leaning half-wits. But the parallels here are interesting: yesterday the Republican donor/terrorist funder we told you about yesterday (Michael Mixon a/k/a Abdul Tawala Ibn Ali Alishtari) was a real Republican party activist. Not only did he give the GOP a decent amount of money (around $15,000 between 2002 and 2004), he also managed to get named to some Republican committees, such as the “White House Business Advisory Committee.”

I wonder if the D&C is planning on giving this story any coverage. I wonder if they’d publish a letter that called the Republican party the party of Stephen Minarik and Michael Mixon. I won’t hold my breath, but it’s worth a shot.

Did you see this one? They found another big Republican donor with ties to a group the State department lists as a terrorist organization.

    TPM Muckracker has the details.

  2. Yeah, I saw that. The money they give to the Republican party probably damages the country more than the money they send to terrorists, if that’s any consolation.
