Kuhl will have a statement up soon on anti-escalation resolution
I just got off the phone with the Kuhl people. They’ll have a statement up on their website about Kuhl’s vote against the anti-escalation resolution later this afternoon. I’ll put a link as soon as it’s up.
I’m very disappointed in Congressman Kuhl’s vote, to say the least. Yes, it makes the race in the 29th more likely to be competitive in 2008, but, frankly, I care a lot more about ending the war than about winning an election.

Is that the smell of Randy Kuh’s retirement I smell in the air?
Ah yes, I think it is, either voluntary or at the hands of Eric Massa this is the end of the political road for you Randy Kuhl.
Tough to smell over the over-powering stench of Aqua-Velva, but yes, I do believe that is the smell of a concession speech baking in the oven.
How can you be disappointed for someone voting against a, lets not mince words here, a non-binding resolution which does absolutely nothing? Nothing. Just political posturing. I’m ashamed of Congress not using the only power they have. This doesn’t mean anything. Pelosi is quoted as saying this is a strong message and will bring the troops home? Is she that deluded?
I want more too. But from what I’ve heard, this will be the basis for legislation with more teeth, like the Murtha Plan.
I would agree with btp. You have to start somewhere. We have been debating the Iraq war in Congress since the beginning of the year. This debate is a direct result of the Democratic majority.
What has the previous Congress’ done since 2003?
You need to start somewhere.
I think this resolution is a good first step, but I, of course, want more too.
The Murtha plan seems like an excellent next step. I’ve also been happy to see Pelosi standing up and saying Bush has no authority to go into Iran.
I think it will be difficult getting this and the Murtha plan through the Senate. The GOP has such a problem admitting this war isn’t going so well.
I can’t wait to hear Randy “I want more war” Kuhl’s explanation of his vote.
I’m still waiting for Kuhl’s office to get back to me on an issue from VOTING DAY!!
What do you expect from Congressmen who complained bitterly about having to work five days a week?
Thank God for Randy Kuhl and the other members of Congress who have both brains and guts. The others caved in to Miss Nancy.
Snark or serious? I can’t tell anymore.
This is humorous. You can’t be serious but I am afraid you probably are.
I’d be interested in your positions on the war in Iraq. I also would be interested in your definition of brains and guts.
On the positive side, at least we now know exactly where Kuhl’s loyalties lie, so it will be easier to predict his subsequent behavior this session. Don’t be discouraged because 2 of the 3 local Republicans voted against. The measure passed handily, and while non-binding, it is a beginning, not an end.
Probably a troll.
Stlo7, assuming Ms. Purdy isn’t just a troll, read Altemeyer’s (partial) e-book before you get into a discussion with her. It’s a useful adjunct and corrective to Lakoff.
