Help with TAPopedia project
The Albany Project is doing a wiki on NY Politics, called TAPopedia:
We here at the albany project are very excited to announce the launch of a new wiki dedicated solely to New York politics. We feel that this tool can fill a very large gap and can, with your help, become a very powerful resource bloggers, journalists and, most importantly, for the citizens of New York.
A wiki is just a web-based way of storing and searching data on a topic. It’s collaborative, so everyone can participate. They have a bare skeleton set up, so it’s up to folks like us to flesh it out.
One suggestion is to adopt a senate or assembly district. Check out Alesi’s page to see what the basic info would look like. I adopted Sen-56, which is Robach’s district, at least to get the basic info in there (incumbent name, pic, and district map). Anyone is welcome to fill in more info.
A final note from TAP:
We are also in the process of working up prototypes of some pretty sophisticated GIS maps that we hope to add soon. This stuff will blow you away.
This is gonna rock.

Yeah, I saw this on NYCO and I think it’s just fantastic. I was hoping to set something like this up a while ago, but it’s just too freakin’ much for one person or even several. Getting bloggers across the state involved is probably the only way to get it done.
Kudos to them! I’m going to go get myself a logon, now. . . .
Here, then is my first contribution.
Wow, nice work! Amazed you have time given all the stuff you’ve been up to on DFE.
LOL. It’s called unemployment. I don’t recommend it, but there are benefits. . . .
Ugh– that just happened to a bunch of my co-workers. Sorry to hear that. That local, progressive think tank that desperately needs our skills can materialize any time now. Any time.
