Kuhl named Deputy Minority Whip of the House
This is a bit of a surprise, since Randy’s gone off the Republican reservation with his first few votes, voting with the Democrats for the minimum wage and for implementing the 9/11 commission’s recommendations. I’m on the road, but I’ll try to look into what this means when I’ve got more time.
Update: btp here, riding shotgun while Exile drives. Apparently there are *many* Deputy Minority Whips, reporting to the Cheif Deputy Whip, and Randy is just one of them. But it’s interesting, local media for each deputy minority whip’s district say it like their candidate is the only one. So it’s not the grand-pooh-bah-ish honor that it might seem.

hmmm, could this be some kind of deal so Kuhl can say to the voters, in 2008, how important he is? NY29 is probably the last hope for Repubs to maintain a NYS seat in 2008. I can’t imagine he’s been awarded this position based on ability or merit…
