Announcement: First ‘ROC 4 Edwards’ Meetup 1/11

Time to Move
Time to Move

What better place then RT to make a formal blog annoucement?!

The time is right to have a kickoff Edwards 08 meetup event in Rochester, NY. A trusted beltway friend from my JK/JE days has said Hillary is indeed ‘running’. Before all the momentum is sucked out of Upstate NY, an organized grassroots core must assemble and brainstorm to elect John Edwards as the Democratic nominee.

This is where us at the netroots come into the fold. If you know anyone in the Rochester, NY region who has an interest in John Edwards as our next President, inform them about the upcoming event. Your comments and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Actual announcement below.

What: Rochester One Corps - Meetup

When: Thursday, January 11th at 8:00 PM

Where: Montys’ Korner (Corner of East and Alexander St.)

363 East Ave Rochester, NY 14604

Event Description:

Welcome ROC members/Meetup/John Edwards Supporters! My name is Ramesh and I am the captain. Don’t place much stock in ‘captain’ since I am only serving as a facilitator.

Its up to YOU how ROC will follow in the upcoming months.

This is also a Meetup.com event which I hope will boost turnout from members of not just One Corps, but people who expressed interest in JE on Meetup.com.

The agenda of the meeting is as follows:

1) Socialize with fellow supporters and discuss why you support
John Edwards (always a good topic starter).

2) Just as important is to organize for the upcoming ‘Day of Action’ on 1/27. Share your ideas and thoughts on what path we should follow.

Hope to meet everyone at Montys’ this Thursday.

Any questions or comments?

Feel free to contact me via email or my cell at 585-615-1631

Sincerely,

Ramesh Padman

Great! Let’s hope that _all_ the Democratic candidates running for prez make an effort to connect with the netroots and truly local organizations in this manner. That is what will make the progressive movement strong.
