* Great post on TF29 on why the only logical choice for NY State voting machines, since we have to get rid of our proven and widely-accepted lever voting machines, is paper ballot/optical scanners.

* The Rural Patriot checks out the report just released by the Commission on Health Care Facilities in the 21st Century to “rightsize” NY hospitals and reports on its recommendations for her area (Allegany/Catt counties). As far as I can tell from the report, they recommend no Rochester-area facilities be closed. I guess losing Genesee was enough? They also have a ton of cool maps in there that they used for their analysis, including this one showing Monroe County ethnicity by zip, and hospital location (click for larger image):
