RT Projects

Here’s more detail on the projects we’re considering.

Reframe Campaign (rise above “false choices”)
-Jobs v. Taxes
-Jobs vs. Environment
-Spirituality/Religion vs. Progressive Values

County Lej voting scorecard

Scorecard allowing readers to quickly and easily see how their county lej rep or other reps voted on key issues.

Electoral Analysis - number crunching, etc.

Wonky analysis & maps about local area races.

Preparing issue field for prog candidates and elected officials

Supporting and promoting issues that local prog candidates and electeds are running on.

Promote ways of people talking to people

How do we get the word out about progressive values, movements, and candidates, person-to-person? How do we do it better? How do we motivate ourselves and others to start, then follow up on those conversations?

Issue/campaign “commercials”

Create short internet based movies on progressive issues or campaigns.

Simple diagrams showing how govt works (e.g. taxes)

Create simple diagrams or flash animations (if someone steps up to show us how) that make it clear to people how gov’t works or where their taxes go.

Candidate/Elected people interviews

Interview local progressive candidates and elected officials. What do they do, what do they think is important, where do they think we should go? And other questions our readers bring up.

6 Degrees Of Politics - user selects issue, we show how govt affects it

Create a website that shows a user why they should give a crap about government. They start by selecting an issue important to them (say, “property taxes”), and we show, step by step, how it’s affected by things like tax cuts for the wealthy.

Reporting on City Council/County Lej Meetings

What the heck goes on at these meetings? Who’s involved? Why should we care?
