More Minarikfreude
Just to follow up on the stlo7’s excellent post, I found this nugget in the D&C article:
As state chairman, Minarik has been hailed by some Republican leaders for opening up the candidate selection process, holding meetings across the state to interview candidates.
How corrupt does a party have to be for Minarik to be seen as a reformer?
File this one under predictable excuses:
Yet Minarik, 46, of Webster, said the decision to leave was a personal choice to spend more time with his family.
Why does every politician who gets fired have to say he’s leaving to spend more time with his family? Frankly, I’d respsect him more if he said he was leaving because he’d bought meth from a male prostitute. At least Ted Haggard was original.

It would be much more plausible if Minarik said he was going into weight rehab. His neck fat completely hides the collars of his shirts!
You know, you’re right. Maybe his next career could be playing that narrator dude in Rocky Horror Picture Show. “Hey @@@@@, where’s your ^$#(&W^@(#$ neck?”
This probably says a lot about my own mental condition but I’ve been thinking of putting together an audio-visual retrospective of Minarik’s reign as state GOP chair. I’m thinking maybe of just a slide show of his craziest mailers, while “For the Good Times” plays in the background.
