BTP and stlo7 here at MCDC HQ. Everyone’s pretty psyched. Hillary just got finished with her victory speech, which riled up the crowd, and now Joe Morelle’s whipping us up even more. There are TV cameras and radio stations in full effect here. stlo7 just went off to take pictures for you fine readers. First time since 1938 that Dems have held every statewide office, according to Joe. I got to chat with Carrie Andrews briefly, and man is she pissed about the fact that just about EVERY Dem proposal in the lej gets killed in committee.
We’re going to have to do something about that.

Just made the rounds talking to some fellow progressive activists. the watch is really on how Congress is doing. Word is spreading that Acuri took NY-24. Some hope.
stlo again, Sweeney is gone. NY 20 is ours. Gillibrand is in. 2 Dem pickups in NY.
Judge Lindley is on now. With his whole family. What a gracious person and he will be a great Supreme Court Judge.
Dan West was up. Don’t have the numbers in front of me but he came amazingly close. Ugh. Hope he runs again.
A really mixed bag tonight. We took the House!!!!
Holy crap! Dems won 2 seats on the Fairport board of trustees! How long has it been since a Dem was on for that?
And “Parma, who doesn’t even know what a Democrat is”, according to Morelle, just elected a Dem. Unbeliveable. In the words of stlo7, “that is a lot of pissed off people.”
I can’t help it - I’m so shattered about Massa’s loss that I can’t be happy about the other results. I’m sure my mood will turn around tomorrow but I’m very depressed right now.
Andrea, I totally understand. You put your heart and soul into a campaign (or more than one), and you want to win. Anything less, no matter how close, feels empty. I’m disappointed too, believe me, but we’ve made progress tonight. I know, tell it to your heart. I hope you feel better tomorrow. I’m already looking ahead to how we’re going to build on what we’ve accomplished today. I hope other folks feel like they can join back in, ultimately.

I agree with the assessment. The bigger picture, however is critically important. We now own the House which is stops the runaway garbage that is the Bush agenda. But locally there is success which introduces the electorate to Dems. We picked up
Fairport Village trustees in Fairport
Gates Town Council seat
Parma
Some others I’m sure.
This validates running people in all the races.
