Conversations at Wegmans

I can’t think of a good title (sorry) but here is the story.

Got to love Wegmans, or at least a long line in Wegmans. Match the long line with me and my political buttons all over my clothes from canvasing and you have the makings of a conversation.

So I’m asked tell me about the Davis and Reynolds. Is what they say about him true? About Social Security? Taking a dollar for pay and all that?

I simply say that the Democratic Party position is to keep social security and not allow Wall Street to administer it. Eventually I talk about the Social Security Cap of 90K and look at the person in eyes and say, I don’t think you make 90K per year (She smiles and says not even close). I know I don’t. Nothing against being “Rich” but the Rich became that way by using more of the benefits provided by society. Shouldn’t they pay their fair share? Raise the cap and you are on your way to solving the funding gap.

I throw in Foley, Iraq and add if you are happy with the way things are the choice is clear.

As we proceed through the checkout line, she thanks me and says she is for Davis.

Very nice.
