Highlights from Rent-A-Kid meets Russert

Tom Reynolds was on Meet the Press today. He was largely overshadowed by what one can only assume was a heavily caffinated — or otherwise medicated — Libby Dole, but this exchange (via Daily Politics)about the Sleaziest Ad Ever was good:

RUSSERT: The tone of the campaign has been quite strike to go a lot of people. The Washington Post reported, and Congressman Reynolds, you had confirmed with me a vast amount of money from the campaign committee will be used on, quote, negative advertising. I want to roll an ad from upstate New York, the 24th district, a Democratic candidate paid for by your committee. Let’s watch.

Hi, sexy. You’ve reached the live one on one fantasy line.
The phone number to an adult fantasy hotline appeared on Michael Arcuri’s New York City hotel room while he was there on official business. The call was charged to Oneida County taxpayers. Arcuri denied it but the records were there.

RUSSERT: Bad call.

REYNOLDS: Here are the facts. They are not disputed by anybody. From the local Utica, New York, newspaper. What the record shows, –

RUSSERT: An aide inadvertently dialed the wrong area code. Everyone admits it. Yet you put an ad on suggesting that this guy is calling sex hotlines. Is that fair?

REYNOLDS: First of all, the chairman of the committee doesn’t know what goes on. Second, that ad is now down.

RUSSERT: You said you’re responsible. That’s what the banner said.

REYNOLDS: I paid for it. The committee paid for it.

Hi. Long time reader. Greece, NY native here.

Andrew Sullivan was on the Chris Matthews Show today. According to the sworn testimony from the Foley investigation, Tom Reynolds knew about Foley for years. In fact, Rove also knew and helped convince Foley to run for another term.

Here’s a link with video: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2006/11/05/sullivan-investigation-_n_33314.htm

At the risk of repeating myself, let me be perfectly clear.

Reynolds not only knew about Foley’s shenanigans with the pages, but Reynolds helped cover the mess up. Reynolds covered up Foley’s lewd behavior with underage pages for several years. Reynolds did so to protect the party. Reynolds protected the party before protecting our children. This man needs to go.

I wonder if the D&C will report on this. Heh.

I’m delighted to be living in the 25th, but depressed that I can’t vote in the 26th. Although I’m pleased to help dislodge Walsh, it would truly be a guilty pleasure to help send Reynolds packing.

Walsh is no better, WCG. And IMHO, Maffei is the most likely to win of any of the local candidates. Walsh has run a crap campaign.

They have no Honor! None of them.

Reynolds is going to have to go back to selling farm equipment, or become a lobbyist. He sure has the connections for that.

Walsh hasn’t even tried to run a campaign… If you look at his Events section, there is 1 event, and it is from AUGUST!

http://www.jimwalshforcongress.com/Events/default.aspx

As for Reynolds, he’s shown the world his true colors in the past month. Protecting a child predator, lashing out at NPR for asking about Iraq, misleading voters about an accidental misdial by an Arcuri staffer…

You’re dead right LV Vet, they don’t have any honor, and now they’re squirming to hold onto their power at any cost…

VOTE TOMORROW!!!!!!
