Boehner blames Batiste for Iraq problems
Randy Kuhl’s old fundraising buddy John Boehner (the Republican Majority Leader) just told Wolf Blitzer that American generals like Rochester resident John Batiste are to blame for all of our problem in Iraq:
BOEHNER: Wolf, I understand that, but let’s not blame what’s happening in Iraq on Rumsfeld.
BLITZER: But he’s in charge of the military.
BOEHNER: But the fact is, the generals on the ground are in charge, and he works closely with them and the president. We’ve seen this run up in violence as we get closer to the election, as we get closer to Ramadan, same thing we’ve seen over the last couple of years.
This an outrage — fealty to Donald Rumsfeld should not come before respect for the officers who are risking their lives in Iraq while Boehner chats with Wolf Blitzer.
What do Kuhl, Walsh, and Reynolds think about this? Do they think what’s gone wrong in Iraq is our soldiers’ fault? Why not call them and find out? Contact info follows after the fold.
