The power of a sticker.

I was in Utica over the weekend proudly wearing my Spitzer/Patterson sticker at some nameless big box store when a floor saleswoman comes up and asked if I worked on his campaign. I, of course, said no just looking forward to November when we can get some new leadership in Albany.

So the 30ish year old women says that she really likes Spitzer. She proclaims that even those she is a Republican she is looking forward to pulling the level for Spitzer in November.

Never missing an opportunity I ask what do you think about Congress. Well, the Foley scandal was all over her mind. She knew about Tom Reynolds and felt as do the rest of America does that the Republicans knew and have no business staying in power.

So as I prepared to leave, I peeled off my sticker and handed it to her. She said disappointingly that she couldn’t wear it in the store and handed it back. I said put in on under your apron – and I swear her eyes lit up as she put it on her blouse. Almost as if she was part of something.

Yes, you are part of something, the future.
